NCHS Art Students Create for the
Hungry
NCHS art students participated in this year's Tarrant
Area Food Bank's, Empty Bowls. The Food Bank's
most popular fundraising event is one of hundreds of
such events held around the world to fight hunger.
Paying guests sampled savory soups, breads and
desserts donated and served by local restaurants and
caterers, and then select handcrafted or hand-
decorated bowls donated by professional artisans, art
students and hobby potters.
In 2007, to accommodate the growing number of
guests, the Fifth Annual Empty Bowls moved to Round
Up Inn at Will Rogers Memorial Center.
This is just one example of Nolan Catholic's part to
educate for service, justice, and peace.
NCHS Thespians Cradick, Senkowsky Big
Winners
Nolan Catholic students participated in the annual
Teen Talent Follies, an awards program for musical
theater and dance. The event featured talent from
several area schools and was sponsored by Dance
Theatre Arlington.
NCHS participants were as follows: Caroline Cradick
(solo musical, group musical), Emily Senkowsky (solo
musical, group musical), Molly Senkowsky (group
musical), Geoff Pierret and Katie Simeroth (group
musical).
Students had to audition to participate in the program.
This was not a theater department sponsored event,
however, the school was listed in the program and
announced before and after every performance. All the
students represented NCHS very well and had
excellent performances.
Junior Caroline Cradick (along with two non-Nolan
students) was awarded with 1st place in the group
musical category.
Freshman Emily Senkowsky won the solo musical
event, and the 1st place award for the best
performance of the entire show! She beat out many
very experienced upperclassmen and blew the
audience away with her voice (especially her solo).
Emily won two trophies, a cash prize, and a
scholarship.
