If you are new, or if you need any assistance whatsoever in posting to these boards please email us at alumni@nolancatholchs.org. The moderator will respond as soon as possible.

Use common sense when you are in a NCHS Alumni Message Board; never give out personal information to strangers or accept files from people you don’t know. The Message Boards are intended to be a place for open discussion and free exchange of ideas, networking, finding old classmates, etc. There is no guarantee that you will receive a response to your questions or message.

The Message Board policy may be revised at any time. Please check this page regularly for the latest message board policy revision.

Please Note: The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Nolan Catholic High School, this board or any entity associated with this board. This message board should be used in compliance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic faith. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email at alumni@nolancatholichs.org. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

Alumni Message Board Policy:

It is expected that all posters read and adhere to our policy. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse for policy violations.

We also reserve the right to suspend or prohibit any user who violates the rights of Nolan Catholic, of any other user, or of any third party without warning.
  2. Nolan Catholic reserves the right to revoke any member who purposely provides false information in a post.
  3. Nolan Catholic can modify, transmit, distribute or delete your posting without needing permission from you. Nolan Catholic does not edit postings and is not responsible for the content of posted comments. Postings may be removed by Nolan Catholic at any time at its sole discretion.
  4. Nolan Catholic reserves the right to modify the Message Board from time to time, for any reason or for no reason at all, with or without notice, including the right to terminate the Message Board and the Messages posted thereon in their entirety.
  5. Nolan Catholic reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time, for any reason or for no reason at all, with or without notice.

General

  1. By posting, accessing, or using the materials or bulletin board on this website you agree to follow and be bound by these rules, and these terms and conditions of use. All decisions of site management regarding the application of these rules are final.
  2. Users may not use the Message Board to post any images, information, data, text, files, links, software, messages, or other communications that are unlawful, threatening, harassing, abusive, harmful, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or racially or ethnically hateful including that pertaining to sexual orientation in any manner, shape or form.
  3. Users may not use the Message Board to publish post, distribute, or disseminate any Message that infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property right of any third party. Nolan Catholic High School reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, if any Message is in violation of these Terms and Conditions.
  4. Any posts that attempts to get around any rule in any way or are suspect as such by board monitors will also be removed and a warning may be sent. Please be advised accordingly.
  5. Guests should also be advised that any ISP rules apply to all email and IM even if they are in response to posts or discussions on our boards. All members are personally responsible for whatever they say in private communications such as IM and email, and may find unwanted or offensive material actionable. Please be advised that this would also apply to any post being selected on the boards to be sent to another poster.
  6. Posters should not violate any applicable local, state, national or international law while using or accessing Nolan Catholic’s Alumni Message Boards or in connection with your use of the Message Boards in any manner.
  7. Personal attacks (flaming) towards users, staff members, or others are not allowed. If you disagree with a posting you may post a message that communicates your disagreement in a non-threatening manner.

Privacy

  1. It is Nolan Catholic’s intent to provide free speech for all and to protect the real-world identity and privacy of those who wish to maintain online anonymity. Encrypted or non-English posts that prevent other guests from reading them and our monitors from checking for violations may be removed and a warning sent.
  2. Email addresses or IM screen names, not made public online by the member are considered confidential and identifying information, and are not allowed. That would include the posting of email addresses with the expressed intention to get other posters to spam the recipient with unwanted messages, which may also be actionable by your ISP. This does not include speculation about alternate names used for posting to our boards.
  3. Posts containing links to any area that would violate these rules may be removed.
  4. In the event of a complaint or legal action involving any posting made by you we may assist in revealing your identity.

Advertising

  1. Advertising is the buying, selling or trading of any commercial product, service, or item.
  2. Posts containing personal advertisement, such as want ads, personal items, services or events are allowed.
  3. Posts containing any commercial advertising are not allowed without prior approval from Nolan Catholic.
  4. Messages, whose purpose is solely to generate traffic to another site, may not be posted.
  5. The solicitation of names, addresses, and phone numbers for any purpose is not allowed. Polls or surveys that may cause members to unwittingly post or submit identifying information may also be removed from the board.

Impersonation

  1. Impersonation of another person is defined as using look-alike characters and/or content intended to deliberately deceive others to believe that the poster is another person.
  2. Impersonation will not be tolerated and the offending account will be removed as well as any posts made under that account without warning.
  3. Parodies, including similar but obviously different screen names, or the use of another poster’s signature line in a post, are not considered to be impersonation.
