Meeting Place, Time, and Days:
During “conference season” we meet weekly on campus to research and practice conference skills, such as public speaking and resolution writing. These meetings usually take place on the weekends in the library. In addition, we hold several meetings after school throughout the school year to sign up for conferences and discuss country assignments.
Participation Requirements:
Students may attend any number of conferences they wish. In addition, if students simply want to aid in research, simulations, or writing, they are welcome!
Major Activities:
We attend several conferences of varying lengths throughout the school year.
· Baylor Conference (one day)- October
· CTMUN at the University of Texas at Austin (three day)- January
· MUNSW at the University of Oklahoma (four day)- February
Club Dues
There are no dues for MUN, but students are required to cover several of the costs for conferences, including registration fees, hotel costs, and some meals. MUN does several fundraisers throughout the school year to offset these costs.
