Baseball and Softball Round Out Athletic Signings
Two more senior athletes from Nolan's baseball and softball programs will continue to play sports in college. Alyssa Wartelle will play softball for Lubbock Christian University, and Andrew Nowak will play baseball at Northeast Texas Community College. Class of 2014 Fall Activities

Athletic Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach, Steve Prud’homme is from Tyler, Texas. He attended T.K. Gorman High School, Jacksonville (TX) College and the University of Dallas. His coaching career began at U.D. coaching the girls’ basketball team in their inaugural season. He moved to Bishop T.K. Gorman and was the Head Varsity Boys Basketball and Baseball Coach for two years.  Steve has been Nolan Catholic’s Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for 21 years and A.D. for 15 years.

Coach Prud'homme has had much success over the years. His baseball teams advanced to the TAPPS state semi-finals twice and his basketball teams have won 8 district titles.  The basketball program has advanced to 13 TAPPS regional finals, 9 state semi-finals and 3 state championships.

Steve is a member of the University of Dallas Hall of Fame.  He is in his second term as president of TAPPS District 1-5A and TAPPS Executive Board.  He served two years on the TAPPS Athletic Executive Committee. 

Facility improvements under Steve Prud'homme includes the construction of the Hartnett Arena, installation of field turf and new track in Doskocil Stadium, new pole vault and discus/shot areas, building of a new weight room, renovation of the origional gym including a second weight room and multiple improvements to the baseball and softball complex. 

Steve has impleminted "The Life of an Athlete Program" that is now 5 years running and he has supported team service/retreat programs over the last two years.

Last year, Nolan Catholic athletics produced two State Championship teams and a 4th place finish in the TAPPS 5A Henderson Cup with the 2nd most points in athletics.

Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director, Joe Prud’homme is a graduate of Bishop T.K. Gorman High School and Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. He earned his degree in Education from the University of Texas, Austin, Texas.  After graduation, Joe became the Head Varsity Football Coach at Bishop T.K. Gorman.  His first team finished with a 10-2 record and played for the state championship.  Joe became the Athletic Director at midyear and initiated the Softball, Cross Country, and Soccer programs.  In 1991, Joe began his career at Nolan Catholic as the Head Football and Softball Coach and Athletic Director.

Under Coach Prud'homme's leadership, the Vikings have made the playoffs 19 out of the last 20 years, including nine State Championship appearances, eight State Semi-Final appearances and three back-to-back State Championships in 2004 & 2005, 2008 & 2009, and a three-peat 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 21 seasons, Coach Prud'homme has a 198-77-3 record and a 76-25-1 district record.  His teams are 37-14-1 in the playoffs.

Joe is a six-time District Coach of the Year, and was named Fort Worth Star Telegram Private School Coach of the Year in 1993, 1999 and 2004.  He was named TAPPS Coach of the Year by TxPrivateSports.com and 2005-2006 TAPPS 6A Coach of the Year (all sports).  He was also selected in 2008 Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Private School Coach of the Year and was the LSCSN.com Private School Coach of the Year for 2012. 

Joe and his wife Amanda reside in Kennedale with their two children, Joseph, a 2013 graduate of NCHS, attending Kansas State University and Emily, NCHS class of ‘15.

Athletic Administrative Assistant, Kelli Bay
After seven years as administrative assistant in the Dean’s Office Kelli moved to the athletic office in 2009. Kelli attended Nolan Catholic for six years (7th-12th grades) and graduated in 1982. While at Nolan Catholic she was a freshman, JV, and Varsity cheerleader, and was a member of the first Royelles Dance Team in its inaugural season in 1981. She graduated from Texas Christian University in 1986 with a B.B.A. in Management.  Kelli has been married to Terry for 27 years and they have three daughters, Caitlin ’07, Cassie ’13, and Carrah ‘16.
