Director of Guidance -- Mary Ann Maryol

On behalf of the Guidance Department, welcome to Nolan Catholic High School. Our department consists of six Master's level
counselors who are here to help your student reach his or her goals, and ultimately receive a Nolan Catholic High School diploma.

Along the way, we will help with academic needs and course selections, college searches, admissions, financial aid and scholarships.  We are available for personal counseling and to help with referral sources when needed.

We hope to be an integral part of your student's high school experience and help prepare him or her for the world beyond high school.

Contact the Guidance Department at 817-451-7486 or fax 817-451-2109.

Congratulations to Mary Ann Maryol, named 2008-09 Outstanding High School Counselor by the North Central Texas Counseling Association.

 The Perils of "Senioritis"

As seniors finalize their class schedules, one comment sometimes heard is: "I have worked so hard. Do I really have to take such a tough schedule this year?"  Each student will have a different approach to his /her course selection. Some students mull over the difference between enrolling in four versus five AP classes; others need additional encouragement to add more rigor to their schedules. While there is room for electives, a senior schedule should reveal a student who remains excited about academic challenge. The bottom line: Students should enroll in the most rigorous set of classes in which they feel comfortable and confident about being successfu. Here are four tips for warding off "senioritis:"

1. Make the grades

2. Remain involved without getting overwhelmed

3. Stay focused

4. Enjoy the experience
