2011 Hall of Fame Inductees

HOMECOMING AND HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

The annual NCHS Alumni Homecoming Dinner will be Friday, Oct. 21, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dinner is free, but you must make reservations with the alumni office.

At this year's Homecoming, the following will be inducted into the NCHS Hall of Fame: James Davidson '68, Rosemary Childress Hayes '66, Don Thompson '66 and the 1978 State Championship Basketball Team. Please join us for the festivities on Friday, Oct. 21, starting with the Alumni Homecoming Dinner at 5:30 p.m. in Hartnett Arena and culminating with the induction of the honorees during halftime of the football game
.


CRITERIA FOR NCHS HALL OF FAME

The Hall of Fame committee will begin accepting nominations for the 2012 Hall of Fame in the spring of 2012.  Download a nomination form here. See criteria below.

Nolan Catholic High School Hall of Fame

The Nolan Catholic High School Hall of Fame sponsored by the Nolan Catholic Alumni Association is intended to specially recognize members of the Nolan Catholic family for their outstanding life achievements in exemplifying the school motto “to be a leader,” and its highest Marianist traditions.

Eligibility

 

Those eligible for nomination and election to the Hall of Fame include:

 

1. All Nolan Catholic alumni, including all graduates of Nolan Catholic’s predecessor Our Lady of Victory High School;

 

2. Any former student who attended Nolan Catholic for at least two years and distinguished himself or herself to be worthy of consideration;

 

3. All past and present faculty, administration personnel, and employees of Nolan Catholic;

 

4. All parents of Nolan Catholic alumni or current students;

 

5. All Nolan Catholic–affiliated organizations, teams, groups, 
                and clubs.

 

               6. All worthy benefactors of time, talent, and treasure to
               Nolan
Catholic.

 

Qualification Criteria

 

Those nominated for election to the Hall of Fame should distinguish themselves with respect to one or more of the following:

 

            1. Educational honors or achievements;

 

            2. Sports accomplishments achieved after attending
            Nolan Catholic;

 

            3. Fine arts accomplishments achieved after attending Nolan
             Catholic;

 

            4. Professional honors or achievements;

 

            5. Civic, governmental or community honors or achievements;

 

            6. Religious honors or achievements; and

 

            7. Service to and dedication of time, talent, and treasure to 
            Nolan Catholic.

 

These criteria are non-exclusive. Additional criteria may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Hall of Fame Committee

 

1. The Hall of Fame Committee consists of seven persons: a chairperson appointed by the Alumni Association Board  (AAB); four people appointed by the AAB for two-year terms each; two people appointed by the administration for one-year terms each.

 

2. No member shall serve more than two consecutive terms.

 

3. Hall of Fame Committee member shall be eligible to nominate a person(s)and/or entity(ies) or provide a letter of support for a person(s) or entity(ies).

 

Nomination Process

 

1. Nominations are made annually on a schedule to be established by the Hall of Fame Committee.

 

2. Nominees may be solicited through any means affiliated with Nolan Catholic, including but not limited to The Shield, Nolan Catholic Alumni e-News, direct mailing, and e-mail.

 

3. All nominations shall be directed to the Hall of Fame Committee, either directly or through the Nolan Catholic Alumni Association or through the Alumni Relations Coordinator.

 

4. All nominations shall be in writing and shall be accompanied by at least three letters of support.

 

            5. Nominations may be made posthumously.

 

6. If a nominee is not elected to the Hall of Fame for a particular year, that nominee may be considered for up to two additional years so long as at least three additional letters of support are submitted for each additional year of consideration.

 

7. The nominations and nominee identities shall be held in confidence by the Hall of Fame Committee.

 

Election and Induction
 

1. No more than three persons or single entities may be elected to the Hall of Fame for a give year. A "Young Alumni Award" may be given to one inpidual in addition to each year's three or less inductees. This award would be given t
